Liverpool fans’ most awaited and much anticipated moment finally arrived on 25th June. Even though they won the UEFA Champions League twice in the last 3 decades (2004–05 and 2018–19), they couldn’t win a Premier league Title. However they managed to grab the trophy this time breaking some records.

After winning the match against Crystal Palace (4–0) on 24th June, they had to wait watching defending Champions playing against Chelsea. ‘If Manchester city draw or lose against Chelsea, Liverpool will become the Champions.’ Bringing tears of joy to Liverpool fans, Chelsea beat Manchester City (2–1), allowing Liverpool to win the Premier League title. Their wait is over! Liverpool won the Premier League. Well deserved.

When considering the match days, Liverpool’s this Premier League glory is the earliest title win in the Premier League history. They captured the title having 7 more games in hand to play. They won the Championship on the 31st match day. Manchester City set this record in the season of 2017–18 winning the Championship on the 33rd match day. If we consider the calendar (date), it’s the latest win in the Premier League history as Liverpool won the title on 25th June. This happened because of the suspension of football due to the pandemic for nearly 2 months.

Minutes after the declaration of the championship, Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp and the players went crazy with one another. Footages emerged on social media showing their celebrations. But it wasn’t the real party. The real party held outside Anfield (Liverpool’s Home Stadium). Fans started celebrating their victory transforming the surrounding in to red. Fireworks lit up the night sky.

Klopp’s Reaction

Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool didn’t forget to share his expressions on this achievement. He told Sky Sports; “I have no words. It’s the best thing I can imagine and more than I could have ever dreamed of. It’s unbelievable. Much more than I ever thought would be possible.”

“Becoming champions with this club is absolutely incredible. It is an incredible achievement from my players… and a pure joy for me to coach them,” he added.
