Let’s get rid of Health Issues related to ICT

Information and Communication Technology or colloquially known as ICT has driven the society towards various forms of easements. It is of course now one of the most needed things in the life cycle of human beings. Yet, it’s not just of good impacts. Once Pope Francis said, “Each of us has a vision of good and of evil.” So is the ICT. We go through the good and the bad together in our day to day life activities. From this article we are discussing the health issues related to the Information and Communications Technology.

In the 21st century, ICT has become indispensable to mankind. ICT and mankind are now interconnected as inseparable. Daily, the numbers using technology keep increasing. As a result of that health issues related to that too keep increasing. Most of these issues arise as a result of the continuous use of a computer for many hours. So let’s have a look at some of these health issues.

Eyestrain

It is a condition that occurs when your eyes get tired from intense use of something. When you stare at computer screens (digital screens) for hours and hours eyestrain occurs. At the same time if you are using the digital screen in an inappropriate distance you will easily become a victim of eyestrain. Working in dim light is also one of the causes.

Watery eyes or dry eyes, blurred vision, headache, itching eyes, burning eyes, and sensitivity to light are some of the common symptoms of eyestrain. Also it will be hard to keep your eyes open and your concentration levels will be decreased.

Computer Vision Syndrome

It is widely known as CVS. This is a condition that occurs when focusing the eyes on a digital screen for protracted and uninterrupted periods of time. Eye’s muscles will not be able to recover from the constant tension required to maintain focus on a close object as a result of CVS. Some symptoms of CVS include eyestrain, headache, fatigue, headaches, irritated eyes and double vision.
