If I ask whether there is a secret recipe to become a creative person at any given point of time, well actually it will quite be a daunting question to ask up front. Speaking of creativity it is an attribute many consider not been in the textbooks to follow through. Having creativity is an innate talent. That doesn’t mean that you should be jealous of them if you don’t have such an innate talent.

Don’t worry! “Hard work beats talent”. There are things you can foster your creative side. Here are some tips,

Recognizing patterns in what we observe is one of the ways to foster creativity. To master this skill engaging in maths, arts and nature can take you a long way despite being bad at it. “That doesn’t mean you don’t like it, mean you don’t improve yourself”. Once you understand the pattern and able to connect the dots, you are clever to see something different where others are unable to see as you are. Well that is what we call ‘creativity’, which is very exclusive to an individual been distinctive from the rest.

Virtue in rest, sometimes the mind just needs to do nothing, but just unplug from all the processing and scan past all miscellaneous materials. Processing too many facts can make the mind go whirling up, leading you nowhere but the same place, and put a stop to your productivity and creativity. Relaxing for a while before continuing a task can yield great surpluses for your creative capacity.

Difficult moments create more creativity. Well, we have been put into this phase whether we like it or not. We all know that fear and creativity both go in parallel paths together. If you kill fear you will be killing creativity as well. Because creativity will always lead you to something new causing fear. In order to have a different ending, we’ll have to start somewhere different.

“The creative adult is the child who survived” — Ursula Leguin

Don’t judge ideas while brainstorming, not every idea is going to be a successful one. Not forgetting its part of the plan of success. If you are afraid of failing, thinking you have got a bad idea, you are discriminating the creativity as well. Stop judging your ideas as you go, instead write down as many as you probably can. But you never know whether the bad ideas are really bad. They could actually be fantastic.
