There are several essentials we need to survive in life. Water is one of those essentials. We can’t even imagine about a life without water. It really plays a key role in our life cycles. So today, it’s all about water.
What is water?
It is a liquid, which is transparent, tasteless, odourless and inorganic. It is the main constituent of the hydrosphere of the Earth, where it covers around 71% of the Earth’s surface. it is almost everywhere. Studies have shown that the total volume of water on the Earth is about 333 million cubic miles (1.386 billion km2). 97.5% of this is salty and 2.5% of water is fresh. Also from this fresh water only 0.3% is in liquid form on the surface.
Science and the life giver
Science has been defined as the study of the nature and the behaviour of the physical universe based on observation, experiment and measurement. H2O is the given scientific or the chemical formula for this. It is a compound contains one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. Those atoms are connected by covalent bonds.
It has 3 common states of matter. Apart from the liquid phase it has a solid phase and a gaseous phase. Often the liquid phase is known as water, while the solid and the gaseous phases are known as ice and steam (vapour) respectively. When you melt the liquid phase you can get the gaseous phase. And when you freeze you can get the solid phase.
